Pedestrian bridge to Balchug
Bridge over Vodootvodny Canal — the Balchug spit and the Peter the Great monument to Krymskaya Embankment and Muzeon. Opened 11 July 2024.
On 11 July 2024 a pedestrian bridge opened across the Vodootvodny Canal: the Balchug spit (Bolotnaya Embankment, the Peter the Great monument) to Krymskaya and Yakimanskaya embankments, toward Muzeon.
It is 58 m long and 8 m wide. The external stiffening rib is a 36 m bench. Work started in March 2023; the 235-tonne span arrived by barge in September 2023.
This is not Bolotnaya Square and not Luzhkov Bridge. Dates from the city announcement of 11 July 2024. The 2026 walkway in the canal bed, from GES-2 under Maly Kamenny to Repin Garden, has a separate album.
