A stream frame from 19 October 2026, 12:55 Moscow time. Autumn on Bolotnaya: Repin Garden in yellow, the Vodootvodny Canal and the Kotelnicheskaya tower. The slow zoom was added in editing.

Since 8 October the Bolotnaya Square webcam is live again. It sits on the facade of the House on the Embankment, on the Ulitsa Serafimovicha side, so the square is seen from above, as in the frame above. This is a short guide: what exactly is in the frame, what is nearby and when to watch.

Left to right

Repin Garden. The middle of the frame is the garden laid out for Moscow’s 800th anniversary. Its paths meet at a round fountain. In summer there are flower beds; in October the fountain is closed for winter, and by New Year the trees are wrapped in lights.

The street by the garden. At the bottom of the frame is the road with buses and cars. In the evening it turns into a ribbon of headlights.

Vodootvodny Canal. On the right is the canal and its embankment. In summer the fountains on the water are switched on, and river boats and paddleboards pass by. The canal follows an old river bed and drained the flood plain, yet people kept calling the place the Swamp — more in the history of Bolotnaya.

Maly Kamenny Bridge and the new footbridge. In the bottom right corner of the frame is Maly Kamenny Bridge over the canal. Beneath it, in the canal bed, is the new 2026 footbridge from GES-2 to Repin Garden. City figures say about 170 m, due in Q4 2026. How the footbridge looked in September from the GES-2 steps is in the note “Grey facade and a footbridge in the canal” and in the footbridge album. The camera is the easiest way to watch the deck grow.

Luzhkov Bridge. About 300 m further along the canal you can see Luzhkov (Tretyakovsky) Bridge — the pedestrian “lovers’ bridge”, where couples hang padlocks on metal trees.

The skyline. Above the roofs of Zamoskvorechye stands the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment tower. At sunset the sky above it is often pink and lilac.

Nearby, but out of shot

Bolotnaya is the low bank opposite the Kremlin, across the river; the camera itself looks along the garden and the canal. Out of shot are the Repin monument, GES-2, the Udarnik cinema, the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge and St Nicholas on Bersenevka. They are easy to find on the district map on the camera page.

When to watch

  • Sunset and dusk — the sky over the Kotelnicheskaya tower changes and the lights come on.
  • Early morning — the garden is empty and the whole square is in view.
  • Summer — fountains on the canal and river boats.
  • Winter — snow on the paths and New Year lights in the garden.

How it used to be

How the square changed over the centuries — from the Swamp and the Wine and Salt Court to the garden and the 2011–2012 rallies — is in the history and the history archive. Recent photos from street level are in the Bolotnaya Square album.
